Madison Mayben made a request for funds to help out poor families in Honduras where she went on her mission trip in 2019. She wrote:
Last summer, Southgate gave me the opportunity to participate in a mission trip to Honduras. I was able to see God’s kingdom spreading throughout Western Honduras because of the work of Mission UpReach. Because of COVID-19, the government has completely shut down the country, only allowing the people to leave their homes for food once every two weeks. If they are caught out after 5, they are arrested and detained in a stadium without food or water for 24 hours. Mission UpReach is doing everything they can to keep their organization afloat while helping the families of the children in their programs. Currently they are working to provide food baskets to each of these families, but donations are greatly needed.
I have organized a fundraiser called HOPE for Honduras to raise money for these food baskets. Each basket includes wholesome foods such as eggs, rice, beans and flour. $25 will purchase a basket with enough food for a child’s family for two weeks. My target goal is to acquire enough funds to reach 200 families. I will be collecting funds until September 4th. All donations are appreciated and I hope to make an impact with whatever the Lord provides. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Thank you!
